Pink bus service in Patna
National News: Keeping in mind the safety and convenience of women passengers in the capital Patna, the state government has taken a big step. Pink bus service is starting on the roads of the capital from June 2025, which will be reserved exclusively for women and girl students. This service will be operated on the major routes of Patna and it will also be expanded to other cities of the state in a phased manner.
In the first phase, 20 pink buses have been brought, out of which 10 buses are ready to operate in Patna. The first bus will run on the route from Gandhi Maidan to Danapur station. Apart from this, buses will also run on major routes like AIIMS, Patna Sahib, Kurji from Gandhi Maidan.
Buses will be operated every day from 7 am to 8 pm and their fuel will be CNG, which also reflects awareness towards the environment.
This makes it clear that the pink bus service will become a new option for affordable, safe and accessible travel.
Many modern facilities have been provided in the buses keeping in mind the safety of women.
All features will be under the control of the driver.
These facilities will ensure that women feel completely safe and comfortable during the journey.
After Patna, this service will also be started in major cities like Bhagalpur, Purnia and Muzaffarpur. The Bihar government has given priority to this scheme in the budget for the year 2025-26 to ensure the right of women to travel safely in their cities.
